EMIT NEWS Miss Janet Faucette The W. M. S. of Watkins Chapel held its regular monthly meeting in the home of Mrs. Frank Faucette Monday night, April 15, with 12 members present. There was a very interesting program given on “In the Philippines — Baguio to Catabato,” which was enjoyed by all. After the program Mrs. Fau cette served refreshments consist ing of potato chips, corn curls, pea nut butter sandwiches, cookies, and soft drinks. Easter Sunrise Service was held at Friendship Freewill Baptist Church Sunday morning. Mrs. Corinna Manning of Smith field was the Sunday guest of Mr. and Mrs. Worth Creech and fam ily. Mr. and Mrs. Coy Driver and Mike called on Mr. and Mrs. Wil lie Boyette of Glendale Sunday. Miss Brenda Hales of Raleigh visited Mr. and Mrs. Jake Pearce Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Lewis visited his brother, Mr. and Mrs. Carrol Lewis, of Windsor Sunday. Shelton Wall, who is in service, was honored at a dinner Easter Sunday at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilton Wall. Wendell, N. C. Window Sash Is Broken, Man Is Cited to Court James Thomas Richardson, 36 year-old Negro of Route 1, Zebu Ion, was arrested Sunday night about 12 o’clock for destroying property.. Night Policeman Windel Perry and Sheriff’s Deputy Gra ham Bunn made the arrest. Perry said Richardson, who had been drinking, broke the window sash. Perry could not name the owner of the property. Richardson’s bond was set at $100. He will be given a hearing in Zebulon Recorder’s Court. Capt. Lionel Bunn, Jr., At Special AF School Captain Lionel D Bunn Jr. of Zebulon, graduated from the United States Air Force’s Squad ron Officer School at the Air Uni versity here Friday (April 12) Captain Bunn was selected for the special professional officer training in recognition of his demonstrated potential as a leader in the aerospace force. The captain, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lionel D. Bunn Sr. of Rt 3, Zebulon, is a graduate of Wakelon High School in Zebulon. Captain Bunn, whose wife is the former Ruth S. Pate of Rt. 3, Fayetteville, is being reassigned to Kelly AFB, Tex. A3c Stanley E. Seago At Florida Air Base Airman Third Class Stanley E. Seago, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Z. Seago of Church St., Zebulon, is being reassigned to Homestead AFB, Fla., for training and duty as a vehicle operator. Airman Seago recently com pleted United States Air Force basic military training at Lack land Air Force Base, Texas. The airman, a graduate of Wakelon High School, attended Campbell Junior College, Buies Creek, prior to entering the service. Edwin L. Tippett Aboard Destroyer Edwin L. Tippett, quartermaster third class, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Tippett of Route 1, Zebulon is serving aboard the destroyer USS Mullinix, which recently completed intensive train ing exercises in the Mediterranean. She operated with units of the navies of Venezuela, Argentina, and the Dominican Republic. It was the first Latin American United States joint naval exercise in history.
